The band was formed by Robert Julian and Lucas Leto in the summer of 2004. They both met in Boston while attending Berklee College of Music. Early on Francisco "paquito" Cruz joined the band playing saxes and Flute. Soon after Mike Montgomery came on with his upright bass, which dramatically changed the sound of the band for the better.

The band recorded a three song demo as a 9 piece band but we decided to strip down the sound to a solid 5 piece band. The latest addition to the band is Danny Lo on keys,organ, and melodica. El Pueblo just finished recording its EP "Third World Reality" with Get Nice records in Boston, MA.
