Consisting of Jatti (Jah - T) and Marla Allen, the Natti Love Joys are a Roots Rock Reggae band. Jatti trained under the great Cedric Brooks during the golden age of reggae (late 60s-70s). Came to the States with the Congos after touring Europe. Lead the hottest roots band in NYC "Itiopia". Was a key musician of the legendary Bullwackies label in the Bronx. Jatti has blessed many classic reggae albums with his fluid bass lines and sincere vocals. He has also backed almost every great reggae Artists to come through the U.S. Born to Jamaican parents in England, Marla began her career in her early teens. She formed the Lover's Rock group "Love Joys" with her cousins. This teenage girl group became a sensation in NY and Europe with the guidance of Bullwackies. Their first hit "Sweet Feelings" is a reggae classic that can still be heard jammin' in the streets of England. The two Love Joys albums (Reggae Vibes & Lover's Rock) have recently been re-released in Europe. While working with Jati in NY, the two decided to link up and form the group Abel & Allen. The rest is JahStory... Together, Jati & Marla have worked and toured with such notable reggae stars as Lee "Scratch" Perry, Horace Andy, Ken Both, The Congos, The Mediations, Sister Carol, Alton Ellis, Barrington Levi, Barris Hammond, Nadine Sutherland from Tuff Gong studios, Marcia Griffiths of Bob Marley's I-Threes to name a few. The New CD "Millenium Bug" is a combination of sweet, conscious, classic reggae and original modern flavor. The lyrics deal with positive inspiration and timeless wisdom. The innovative production and arrangement was done through the teamwork of Jati and Naga of Straight Roots Productions. Through the years, they have played with the founders and legends of reggae, but are now spreading their own unique messages of harmony, sincerity, and reality.
