Brutal Bands :: TAVÚ
Formed in Puerto Rico in the summer of '96, TAVÚ is a modern, funk influenced metal band with spanish lyrics, dedicated to mixing a huge diversity of elements into the genre of heavy music, creating a fusion of energy, power, talent, and subtlety distinctly their own.
In these seven years, TAVÚ's style has grown, met morphed, and matured, as they have continuously experimented with the continuous incorporation of new elements into their music, all due to the different, yet complimentary input from each individual member of the band. TAVÚ continues to successfully play all over Puerto Rico, increasing their fan base exponentially and continuing their conquest of international audiences. Their brilliant performance as the opener for ANTHRAX, DRI, Ankla, Puya and Korn was quoted as powerfully outstanding. After taking part in tributes to Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Rage Against The Machine, TAVÚ compressed years of hard work and creativity into their first full length album, and alongside Walter Santaliz and Showcase Records, the band was immensely proud of the final product. This first album, self-titled as TAVÚ, was released during a sold out live performance at Bleachers in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico, the 31 st of January, 2004. Longtime fans, as well as new listeners, are guaranteed an album of fierce quality, a reflection of the integrity manifest in TAVÚ's music, and will be taken aback by every single song. This solid musical offering includes nine studio tracks, two live performances, as well as their most recent music video. This footage for the song "Recojiendo Impulsos" was created, filmed and edited in Ft. Lauderdale , Florida . TAVÚ represents perseverance, uncompromising creativity, quality, musical excellence, and a global sound.
