VIEJO BERTO was formed by Walle Feliciano (bass),Arturo Rodriguez (guitars),Carlos B. Perez (drums) and Michael “core”(vocals) in Bayamon P.R. 2001. Bringing to the table a mix of hardcore and groove originals songs with lyrics written in english and spanish based on true life experiences like “YO LO SE”,”LA NINA”,”EL PICHON”,”JAWBREAKER”,”HEMPNOTIZED” among others. Playing in pubs and bandfests ,including the 3rd tattoo festival held in the island. In 2002 Michael left the band , leaving vocal duties to GabiBerto , bringing a heavier darker new sound with the lyrics heading in the same direction. Recording a four song demo in 2003 which include the songs ‘FALLEN”, “S.P.S”, “THE REAPER” and the immortal “PENNYWISE”. Setting off a couple of presentations. After that the band went through a few line up changes before calling it quits in 2004. Taking a two year vacation from each other, reuniting again in 2006 the original line up Walle(bass), Arturo(guitars and lead vocals), Carlos B.(drums) and Ed (Lead Guitars and b.vocals). Recording in 2008, once again with Eddie Sound our new 4 song demo. Experimenting with a more melodic approach in the song writing we have the songs "OLDBERT","ROTTEN","LIGHT FADES"and the ear-crippling "TO THE DEARLY DEPARTED".
