PAYMENT DETAILS:
- For all third-party CD retail sales, Brutal Noise accepts all music on a consignment basis and pays the artist on a net income basis. The artist will receive payment one quarter after Brutal Noise receives payment from its partners, which is often 3-6 months after the sale occurs. Some physical distributors (Baker and Taylor, Amazon for example) order music on a consignment basis, so music shipped does not always equal music sold. Once a distributor sells the music, they pay Brutal Noise, and we pay the artist.
- For all physical and third-party online retail sales, Brutal Noise withholds 25% of the artist's earnings as a reserve because some product may be returned and charged against Brutal Noise's account. If Brutal Noise ships more than 100 units in any given quarter, Brutal Noise reserves the right to extend the reserve amount. After two quarters, this reserve is liquidated and paid to the artist.
- Accounting is separated into two areas: digital track sales and
third-party CD sales.
- Artists: Payment for your sales will be processed quarterly
when your release balance for third-party CD sales reaches
$250 or when your release balance for digital track sales reaches $10. If your third-party CD sales balance for a specific release
is less than $250, or if your digital track sales balance
for a specific release is less than $10, payment will be carried over
until either balance reaches its minimum requirement.
- Labels: A Label is defined as any artist or label that submits five or more releases to Brutal Noise at one time. Payment for your sales will be processed quarterly when your account balance for third-party CD sales reaches $1000 or when your account balance for digital track sales reaches $50. If your aggregate third-party CD sales balance is less than $1000, or if your aggregate digital track sales balance is less than $50, payment will be carried over until either account balance reaches its minimum requirement.

PRODUCT MANAGEMENT
If some of your music is sold at retail, the retailer may wish to buy and stock more of your CDs. When this occurs, we will send you an email re-order request for more music, and we ask that you fulfill each order in a timely manner (two weeks or less) so that retailers do not cancel their orders.
